Platts launches weekly US expandable polystyrene spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched new weekly CFR US West Coast general grade expandable polystyrene and fire-retardant grade price assessments, effective April 3, 2024.

The new assessments expand Platts existing styrenics coverage in the US.

The specifications and terms of the new EPS assessments are as follows:

In the absence of spot market indications, Platts may assess on a net-forward calculation from the FOB Asia general grade EPS assessment (AAWEV00), and the FOB Asia fire retardant grade EPS assessment (AAWEW00). The net-forward calculation, if used, would factor the following Platts container freight assessment: North Asia-West Coast North America (PCR1300).
