Platts changes petrochemical weekly contract prices to monthly publishing

Platts will start publishing the monthly contract prices for the following petrochemical assessments once per month, changing from publishing once per week effective April 3, 2023.

Under this change, the monthly butadiene, MEG, orthoxylene, benzene and phthalic anhydride contract prices will now be published on the first working day of the month for which they get settled. For example, if April butadiene settles the last week of March, the price will be databased on April 3.

Prices were previously published every Friday of the month for which the contract settled.

The assessments appear in Platts Olefinscan, Polymerscan, Europe and Americas Petrochemicalscan as well as Platts Price Point database under the codes listed above.
