Following a period of industry consultation and feedback, S&P Global Platts has changed the cargo sizes of some of its East Of Suez Suezmax tanker assessments effective April 2, 2018.
Platts has observed crude suppliers in the Persian Gulf extensively offering cargoes in parcels of 140,000 mt for westbound voyages.
The liquidity for the 140,000 mt crude stem size has grown with charterers preferring to move larger parcels to maximize freight returns.
Platts has increased the cargo sizes from 130,000 mt to 140,000 mt for the following routes:
* Persian Gulf to US Gulf Coast * Persian Gulf to UK Continent * Persian Gulf to Mediterranean
