Platts seeks additional information on Texas Eastern zone M-2

Platts, as part of its efforts to track changes in North American spot- gas trading patterns and to add new pricing locations as they become viable, is asking data providers that buy or sell natural gas on Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. in zone M-2 to identify the location of each transaction as specifically as possible.

Platts is analyzing trading in zone M-2 to identify differences in value at various receipt and delivery points along the 24- and 30-inch lines. We understand that different companies have different trade-capture systems and varying capabilities for describing trading locations, and Platts appreciates any and all efforts to provide the most granular level practicable.

Texas Eastern's master location list is available from the pipeline's Web site at the following URL: https://infopost.spectraenergy.com/infopost/default.asp?pipe=TE Click on the "Downloads" subfolder and choose the "Point Data" link.

The most useful level of location detail to report is the delivery location's Meter Number and/or the DRN number because they are typically unique to one location, and all other information, like common name, state, county, direction of flow and whether the location is on the 24- or 30-inch line, can be determined from them.

If the Meter Number or DRN number cannot be provided, the next best thing to report is the "Location Name" for the point and whether it's a receipt into or delivery out of Texas Eastern.

To the extent possible, reporting this level of location detail is requested for all trading locations, not just Texas Eastern's zone M-2. Please feel free to contact Kelley Doolan at 202-383-2145 (kelley_doolan@platts.com) with any questions.
