Platts launches production cost-based high-purity ethylene oxide prices for Asia, US

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched daily production cost-based high-purity ethylene oxide prices for Asia and the US, effective April 1.

The assessments build on recently launched DDP Northwest Europe ethylene oxide spot assessments.

Platts announced the launch of the new assessments March 1 via a subscriber note available here, following a proposal Feb. 6, via a subscriber note available here.

The assessments are published in $/mt and follow the regional publishing schedules.

The Asia and the US assessments comprise the Platts daily CFR Northeast Asia ethylene (AAOTM00) assessment and daily FD Mont Belvieu Month 01 ethylene (AAOSR00) assessment, respectively, and a combination of other fixed and variable costs as determined by each region.

The variable and fixed inputs will be reviewed as needed to ensure they are representative of current market dynamics.
