Following a formal public consultation, proposal, review and decision, S&P Global Commodity Insights has changed the proof of sustainability certification requirement for some of its first-generation biodiesel assessments, effective April 1, 2022, to ensure the PoS certification reflects the same feedstock as the physical material.
Under the changes: S&P Global RME FOB ARA premium and outright assessments reflect product that holds proof of sustainability showing material of 100% rapeseed oil origin. S&P Global PME FOB ARA premium and outright assessments reflect product that holds proof sustainability showing material of 100% palm oil origin. S&P Global SME FOB ARA premium and outright assessment reflect product that holds proof of sustainability showing material of 100% soybean oil origin. PoS certification shows compliance with REDII sustainability criteria and indicates the feedstocks, country of origin for feedstocks and greenhouse gas emissions along the supply chain of the consignment.
