SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts changes CFR SE Asia Billet assessment specifications

Following industry consultation since January 29, 2019, S&P Global Platts has updated the specifications of the CFR SE Asia Billet assessment (SB01035), effective April 1, 2019, to better reflect current market conditions.

Platts has narrowed the quality specification to 5SP, Q275 or equivalent and dimensions to a cross section of 130 x 130 mm and length of 12 m. The volume specified has been updated to 10,000 mt and timing, a shipment date of 6-10 weeks forward from the date of publication.

The location basis specified remains as CFR Manila, Philippines.

Platts continues to collect information on deals, bids and offers for billet of other qualities, dimensions, volumes, shipment periods and load/discharge ports, and may normalize them to the above specifications for assessment purposes using price differentials prevailing in the market.
