SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches new Global Steel Mill Economics Spreads

Platts has started publishing new Global Steel Mill Economics Spreads, based on Asia, Turkey and US-focused markets. The spreads replace a previously published series, which has been discontinued. (See separate subscriber note)

Platts started publishing the following new Global Steel Mill Economics Spreads April 1, 2016.

DAILY:

1. ASEAN HRC Spread: TSI ASEAN HRC over TSI CFR China Iron Ore and TSI CFR Prem JM25 HCC (USD/MT)

2. China Export HRC Spread: Platts HRC Export FOB China over PLV CFR China, IODEX (USD/MT)

3. China Export Rebar Spread: Platts Rebar Export FOB China, PLV CFR China, IODEX (USD/MT)

4. Turkey Rebar Scrap Spread: Platts Rebar FOB Export over TSI HMS I/II Scrap CFR Turkey (USD/MT)

5. Rebar Black Sea Billet Spread: Platts Rebar Turkey FOB Export over Platts Black Sea Billet over (USD/MT)

WEEKLY:

6. US HRC Scrap Spread: TSI US Domestic HRC (weekly average value) over TSI Scrap (Weekly Shred) (USD/ST)

7. US Rebar Scrap Spread: Platts US Domestic Rebar (weekly average value) over TSI Scrap (Weekly Shred) (USD/ST)

The weekly series are dated and generated on the last business day of the week, or in the event of public holidays on the closest subsequent business day. For example, a spread dated April 8, 2016 uses data for the period April 4-8, 2016.

The assessments will be published in Platts Metals Alert and Platts Steel Price Report. The data will also be made available in Platts Markets Data.
