SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to change Americas tankers Market on Close timing

Platts confirms that it will change the Americas tanker assessments for both the clean and dirty markets to reflect the transactable value at 2:15 pm Houston time from May 15, 2015, following review.

The Americas clean and dirty tanker assessments currently reflect the transactable value at 4:30 pm London time, in line with the other West of Suez tanker assessments.

In line with the change, the clean and dirty Americas tanker assessments will move to a US publishing schedule from a London one effective May 15, 2015.

The change is part of an expansion of freight coverage in the Americas, and reflects the growing liquidity of the Americas tanker markets. The change will also bring the Americas tanker assessments in line with the US oil assessments, which currently reflect the transactable value of crude oil and refined oil products at 2:15 pm Houston time.

The Americas clean tanker assessments appear in the Platts Clean Tankerwire newsletter and on Platts Global Alert pages 1912 and 1924, while the Americas dirty tanker assessments appear in the Platts Dirty Tankerwire newsletter and on Platts Global Alert pages 1972 and 1962.
