S&P Global Platts is proposing to launch daily spot Recycled PET colored flake assessments for Northwest Europe and the UK to broaden Platts coverage of the Recycled PET markets, in light of increasing consumer demand for recycled plastic. The assessments would launch on May 13, 2020.
The daily assessments would take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 16:30 London time and would reflect delivery within 3 to 30 days from the date of publication.
The assessments would have the following specifications:
Basis: Free delivered Northwest Europe (Eur/mt), free delivered UK (GBP/mt)
Standard spot cargo size: Minimum 20 mt lots
Specification: R-PET colored hot-wash flake assessments would reflect material with an IV of 0.72-0.78 from 100% post-consumer recycled content.
The proposed assessments would be published on Petrochemical Alert pages PCA571 and PCA573, in Polymerscan, Platts Platform, Platts Market Center and in Platts price database.
Platts invites all stakeholders and interested parties to engage in the feedback process. The feedback period will conclude on April 9, 2020.
