SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts assesses forex rates globally from March 25, 2019

S&P Global Platts has aligned its market reporting coverage of foreign exchange rates globally by assessing the prevailing rate of foreign exchange pairs at the regional close of trading from March 25, 2019.

Platts publishes foreign exchange rates, relating to the various commodities it assesses and uses the same values in published currency conversions of those commodities.

On January 2, 2019 Platts launched assessed foreign exchange rates in Asia (please see subscriber note https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/010219-pl atts-to-assess-forex-rates-at-asia-close-from-jan-2-2019).

From March 25, 2019 Platts assesses all published foreign exchange pairs using the same data source and method, unless otherwise stated, globally in all publications and services.

The assessments reflect the timestamped prevailing value of currency pairs in the digital market widely used in the international finance and banking sector. Platts analyzes the market evolution of both the bid and ask immediately preceding the timestamp and makes an assessment to 3 or 4 decimal places depending on the pair.

Platts will continue to publish and use for conversions central bank rates where stated.
