Following changes in market conditions, Platts is requesting feedback on a proposal to suspend its 180CST bunker fuel assessment in Melbourne, Australia.
Supply of 180CST fuel has been effectively suspended at the port since the middle of 2008 owing to local refinery constraints and changing consumption patterns.
Platts would consider relaunching the 180CST assessment if supplies of the fuel resume in future.
Platts would continue to assess 180CST bunker fuel in the neighboring port of Sydney, and it would continue to assess 380CST bunker fuel in Melbourne itself.
Please send comments and questions by April 17, 2009 to asia_bunkers@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
