Vanadium in Singapore fuel oil (update)

As announced at Platts' Asia oil forum in August 2008, and subsequently confirmed in October 2008, Platts will amend the vanadium content specified for 380 CST, high sulfur fuel oil assessed in the FOB Singapore market from April 1, 2009.

Platts will increase the maximum specified allowable vanadium to 300 parts per million, up from the present ceiling of 200ppm.

This would align the vanadium content in HSFO cargoes with standard quality in the bunker fuel market, which is the predominant end-use for 380CST fuel oil cargoes in Singapore.
