Platts is seeking feedback on a proposal to increase the frequency of its MW European Ferromolybdenum price assessment (MMAFO00) to daily from weekly, and to amend the specification to normalize to a 65% grade. The name as it appears in Platts Metals Daily, Metals Week, Platts Metals Alert and Platts' data would be aligned to MW European 65% Ferromolybdenum. Platts now engages with the market regularly with a higher priority on market values that are verified and tested typically on Thursday prior to publication of the assessment. From May 1, 2014, Platts proposes to enhance its market reporting by publishing an assessment of the tradable value for European ferromolybdenum every business day. A weekly average also will be published on Fridays and a monthly average consisting of the mean value of all the daily assessments that month will be published on the last business day of the month. At the same time, Platts wishes to clarify and enhance the methodology and specifications as follows: 65% Ferromolybdenum in-warehouse Rotterdam -- Daily assessment of the repeatable, tradable spot physical price of ferromolybdenum with 60-70% molybdenum contained, normalized to basis 65% Mo contained, 0.5% Cu, 1.5 Si, 0.05 P, 0.10 S, duty-paid, cash terms in-warehouse Rotterdam. Sizing 10-50 mm, 90% passing, packed in 1 mt bags on pallets, 20 mt minimum volume. The value will be expressed in US$ per kilogram. This proposal would amend and enhance Platts current European ferromolybdenum assessment (MMAFO00) published in Metals Daily and Platts Metals Alert. Please send any feedback or questions to jitendra.gill@platts.com, with a cc to pricegroup@platts.com by April 2, 2014.
