Platts to define cargo sizes for Turkish polymer assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will introduce a maximum and minimum cargo size for its CFR Turkey polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) spot assessment specifications, effective April 19, 2023, in order to better reflect standard market practices.

Platts will add a minimum volume of 100 mt and a maximum volume of 500 mt for the following assessments:

Platts currently doesn't observe a price difference for cargoes within this size range. Pricing information for other cargo sizes may be used for assessment purposes, subject to normalization.
