Anticipating new products in the near future, Platts will start utilizing 3-character Market Data Category codes for FTP/CSV in addition to the current 2-character Market Data Category Codes.
The use of the 3-character data category code is listed on page 21 of the Platts Market Data User Guide (September 2012).
The guide is available on Platts.com via link: http://plts.co/MDUGd Platts will continue to use 2-character Market Data Category Codes. To test if the 3-character categories will affect your system or program, please go to the following link for test files and instructions: http://plts.co/3MDCinstrux The test files should not be processed in lieu of current production files.
