Following industry feedback, Platts will change the specifications of European virgin/isomer grade mixed xylenes to reflect the below specs:
Property: Specification:
Non aromatics content, max 1% Paraxylene content, min, vol 18% Ethylbenzene content, max, vol 20% Color, max, Pt-Co scale 20 Distillation range, max 5 Celcius Initial distillation temp, min 137 Celcius Dry point, max 143 Celcius Acid wash color, max pass with 6 Copper corrosion, max pass (1A or 1B) Appearance Clear liquid free of sediment and haze when observed at 18.3 to 25.6 C (65 to 78 F).
This change will be effective from March 15, 2010.
