Platts will publish assessments for the Japan bunker fuel market Friday.
The assessments will be done on an inferential basis reflecting the broad movements in the Asia Pacific oil markets in areas that were not affected by the earthquake.
Platts will continue to keep the situation under review.
Meanwhile, all other Japan oil markets are being assessed as per normal Friday.
Japan was hit by a massive 8.9-magnitude earthquake and 10-meter high tsunami waves Friday afternoon, which has forced the closure of several refineries and led to the shutdown of key ports in the Tokyo Bay area.
Buildings in the capital have been swaying from aftershocks and several have been evacuated.
