SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches new CFR India petcoke assessments

Following a period of industry consultation, Platts has launched two new weekly fuel-grade petroleum coke assessments to reflect the value of imports to India's East and West coasts, effective March 11, 2015.

The new CFR India East and West assessments will reflect the value of high sulfur petroleum coke with a sulfur content of 6.5% and a HGI of 40, delivered to India on a 50,000 mt Supramax vessel, in $/mt, CFR Krishnapatnam (East) and Kandla (West).

For assessment purposes, petcoke with 6-8% sulfur and HGI of 38-55 will be considered.

The new symbols are: CFR India West 6.5% sulfur petroleum coke -- CPAGJ00 CFR India East 6.5% sulfur petroleum coke -- CPAGK00

The price assessments will be available on fixed page GC0960.

The assessments will take into account petcoke trades done in a forward 30-60-day delivery window, and cargoes traded with more prompt or further forward laycans will be normalized to the middle of the assessment period.
