Please note that Platts' US Gulf Coast RBOB assessment will reflect VOC-season-related specifications beginning with Colonial Pipeline's 16th shipping cycle on March 13. RBOB will show an RVP level of 6 psi, reflecting the maximum limit of the fuel on a neat or pre-ethanol blend basis. The shift is part of the routine transition of fuels mandated by the US Environmental Protection Agency. VOC requirements for RBOB formulations of gasoline typically include constraints associated with RVP, distillation, aromatics, olefins, benzene and sulfur. VOC season volatility targets for RBOB range from 5.5 RVP to 6 RVP, according to industrial estimates, with a maximum of 7.1 RVP for the final blend with ethanol.
