Platts is seeking feedback on a proposal to lower the metals content in its US Atlantic Coast 1% sulfur fuel oil physical assessment basis to 120 ppm maximum aluminum+silicon (al+si) effective January 3, 2011.
Currently, USAC 1% sulfur fuel oil assessments reflect 150 ppm max al+si.
Initial feedback collected by Platts has revealed that spot 1% sulfur fuel oil sold on the USAC has metals content well below the current 150 ppm max al+si specification basis.
