SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts may normalize tanker freight rates for Venezuela voyages

S&P Global Platts would like to clarify that its freight assessments reflect typical spot voyages on any given route.

Following the imposition of US sanctions on Venezuela in January 2019, freight rates for tankers loading or discharging in Venezuela have been fixed at significant premia to other regional locations in the Caribbean. As such, these may be normalized to typical loadings for assessment purposes.
