Platts updates heating value display for LNG cargo instruments on eWindow

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has updated the display of gross heating value for LNG cargo bids, offers and trades on the Editorial Window, or eWindow, communication tool for the APAC LNG and Atlantic LNG instruments in the Platts Market on Close assessment process, effective March 4.

The eWindow order entry box displays editable GHV minimum and GHV maximum fields, with default values set at 1,030 Btu/Scf and 1,130 Btu/Scf, respectively.

Reporting of GHV units other than Btu/Scf can be done within the TQC field by selecting the Other - See TQC drop-down option.

This update means that the significant quantity and quality parameters of an LNG cargo can be visible on the primary interface of the eWindow.

There is no change to the underlying methodology for LNG cargo assessments published. Platts may normalize bids, offers and trades for quality specifications with different GHV ranges.
