SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts continues Rebar CFR East Asia assessment

Platts will continue publishing price series SB01195; Steel Rebar CFR East Asia, on a weekly basis.

The assessment has become a regional and global reference for many companies seeking an independent published valuation of spot market rebar.

The assessment specification will reflect seaborne cargoes of steel reinforcing bar sold on an actual weight basis conforming to BS4449 Grade 500 of diameter range of 16-32 millimeters and in 12 meter lengths; sold on a CFR Singapore basis, the main destination for rebar in South East Asia.

Platts will consider for assessment deals, bids and offers for cargoes of other qualities and sizes, and delivered into other northeast and southeast Asian ports, normalized to the stated specifications.

Normalization for other locations will utilize freight netback and net forward calculations based on relevant freight rates.

The assessment will be published every Thursday in line with Platts FOB China rebar assessment, effective February 26.

Previously, it was assessed and published on Fridays.
