SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to launch new CFR Med caustic soda spot price assessment

Following market consultation, S&P Global Platts will launch a weekly CFR Mediterranean caustic soda spot price assessment, effective April 7, 2020.

The CFR Mediterranean assessment in $/dmt will take into account delivery to ports in Italy, Spain and Greece for volumes from a minimum cargo size of 2,000 dry metric tons. The delivery period will be 3 to 30 days from the date of publication.

The product specification will reflect caustic soda solution 50% commercial grade from either the membrane or diaphragm cell production process.

The assessment will take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4.30pm Tuesday London time.

The assessment will be published in Solventswire, on Platts Petrochemical Alert pages 243, 380 and 391, and in the Platts price database under the following codes:
