Following Colonial Pipeline's decision to no longer ship US Gulf Coast premium conventional gasoline with 7.8 RVP (V1), Platts is inviting comments and suggestions on the best approach for its related USGC pipeline assessment in summer 2016.
Platts will continue the prompt pipeline and waterborne assessments for V1 gasoline in summer 2016.
In the absence of an open, tradeable spot market for pipeline V1 gasoline, Platts is analyzing relationships between V1 and other grades of gasoline to find the most relevant methodology to employ in 2016 for the prompt pipeline assessment. As previously announced, the V1 pipeline assessment will be published under the supplemental code PGAJH00.
Please send any feedback by March 18 to americas_products@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
BACKGROUND: Colonial Pipeline announced on February 5 that it would no longer ship V1, based on feedback from shippers at a forum January 28. For details of Colonial's shipping schedule, please refer to the company's website at http://www.colpipe.com/home/customers/shipper-manual-tariffs.
