Platts launches new North American Renewable Capture Price Indexes

Effective March 1, S&P Global Commodity Insights has launched its North American Renewable Capture Price Indexes.

Platts Renewable Capture Price Indexes track weighted average prices that renewable energy generators receive for the electricity they produce throughout the day, based on hourly generation and ISO's pricing data.

New Renewable Capture Price Indexes will provide the market with an independent and transparent view on how renewable revenues are changing through time as the energy transition accelerates and renewable generation, such as solar and wind, make up a greater share of the generation mix.

Platts will publish daily Renewable Capture Price Indexes in seven North American ISOs: California Independent System Operator, Electric Reliability Council of Texas, ISO New England, Midcontinent Independent System Operator, New York Independent System Operator, PJM Interconnection, and Southwest Power Pool.

Wind indexes will be published for CAISO, ERCOT, ISONE, MISO, NYISO, PJM and SPP, and solar indexes will be published for CAISO, ERCOT, ISONE, MISO and PJM.

Renewable Capture Price Indexes will be measured in $/MWh.
