Platts launches two new Atlantic Panamax dry bulk grains freight time charter equivalents

S&P Global Platts has begun publishing two new daily Panamax dry bulk grains freight time charter equivalents, from the US Gulf to China, effective March 2, 2020.

This follows the decision note sent on January 30, following requests from market participants to have visibility on TCE rates for front-haul routes originating in the USG region. The new routes round out Platts' Panamax TCE coverage, and complement its existing suite of dry freight TCEs.

The TCE assessments reflect the $/day pricing derived from the respective voyage rate published on a $/mt basis in Dry Freight Wire.

The following new assessments have been launched:

New Orleans, USG to Qingdao, China, 66,000 mt grains, vessel delivery Busan, South Korea, two-way routing via neo-Panama canal, basis scrubber fitted

New Orleans, USG to Qingdao, China, 66,000 mt grains, vessel delivery Busan, South Korea, two-way routing via neo-Panama canal, basis marine fuel 0.5%

The assessments are based on modern Panamax tonnage and reflect the cost of transporting a 66,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) grains cargo on a 81,000 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel, from delivery port to loading port and then to discharge port, and are published on a dollar per day basis.
