Following a period of industry consultation and feedback, S&P Global Platts confirms it will change the cargo sizes of some of its East Of Suez Suezmax tanker assessments, effective April 2, 2018.
Platts has observed that crude suppliers in the Persian Gulf are offering cargoes in parcels of 140,000 mt each for West-bound voyages.
According to market feedback, liquidity for the 140,000 mt crude stem size has grown, with charterers preferring to move larger parcels to maximize freight returns.
As a result, Platts will increase the cargo sizes reflected in three East Of Suez Suezmax tanker assessments from 130,000 mt to 140,000 mt.
The routes affected are: * Persian Gulf to US Gulf Coast * Persian Gulf to UK Continent * Persian Gulf to Mediterranean
