SUBSCRIBER NOTE UPDATE: Platts to launch new Global Steel Mill Economics Spreads

(Adds publications where spreads will be published)

After a period of industry consultation and feedback, Platts will start publishing the following new Global Steel Mill Economics Spreads, based on Asian, Turkey and US-focused markets from April 1, 2016.

The spreads will replace the existing series, which will be discontinued. (See separate SUBSCRIBER NOTE.)

1. ASEAN HRC Spread: TSI ASEAN HRC over TSI CFR China Iron Ore and TSI CFR Prem JM25 HCC (USD/MT)

2. Turkey Rebar Scrap Spread: Platts Rebar FOB Export over TSI HMS I/II Scrap CFR Turkey (USD/MT)

3. Rebar Black Sea Billet Spread: Platts Black Sea Billet over Platts Rebar Turkey FOB Export (USD/MT)

4. US HRC Scrap Spread: TSI US Domestic HRC over TSI Scrap (Weekly Shred) (USD/ST)

5. US Rebar Scrap Spread: Platts US Domestic Rebar over TSI Scrap (Weekly Shred) (USD/ST)

6. China Export HRC Spread: Platts HRC Export FOB China over PLV CFR China, IODEX (USD/MT)

7. China Export Rebar Spread: Platts Rebar Export FOB China, PLV CFR China, IODEX (USD/MT)

The assessments will be published in Platts Metals Alert and Platts Steel Price Report.

The data will also be made available in Platts Markets Data.
