SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Ports reflected in Europe distillates cargo assessments

Platts reflects bids and offers for European ultra low sulfur diesel, gasoil and jet fuel cargoes in its Market on Close assessment process where the seller endeavors to deliver oil on a vessel that will fit likely terminals and jetties within the port indicated at the time of showing an indication in the assessment process. Where buyer needs a vessel that will fit the specific dimensions of a terminal or a jetty, the name of the terminal and/or jetty should be detailed in any bid communicated to Platts for publication on Platts Global Alert during the assessment process. Upon performance of any resulting trade, a buyer may wish to take the vessel to a different port based on its charter-party options. In such a situation, the seller is obligated to provide a vessel fitting plausible terminals in the originally nominated port. For example, where a vessel is too large for a port that is part of the charter-party option, the buyer cannot reasonably ask for the vessel to be substituted by seller.
