Platts invites industry feedback on its proposal to bring forward its Market on Close assessment time stamp for thermal coal in the United States to 2:30 pm ET (1930 GMT) from the current 4 pm ET (2100 GMT). The proposed change would align the time stamp to the peak period of trading activity in the spot market and allow Platts to continue to capture transactions, bids and offers to ensure the greatest accuracy in price discovery. Subscribers and market participants are invited to submit by February 28, 2014, any feedback or queries by email to coal@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
