In a refinement to its CFR India daily physical thermal coal and freight assessment methodology, Platts intends to consider cargoes delivered to the ports of Kandla, Mumbai, Mormugao, New Mangalore, Navlakhi and Pipavav in its CFR West Coast of India assessment process and normalize relevant deal, bid and offer information to Mundra Port using freight differentials.
Platts also intends to consider cargoes delivered to the ports of Chennai, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Karaikal, Krishnapatnam and Vizag in its CFR India East Coast assessment process and normalize relevant deal, bid and offer information to Paradip Port using freight differentials.
Please send any comments, information or questions by Thursday, February 24, 2011, to coal@platts.com with a cc to pricegroup@platts.com with CFR India in the subject line. Platts intends to implement this change to the methodology by March 4, 2011.
