Platts, due to pending court action that has halted implementation of the Environmental Protection Agency's Cross-State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR), has dropped its previously announced plan to discontinue daily assessments for sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission allowances created under the Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR). Platts will continue to publish daily assessments for both CAIR and CSAPR allowances until further notice. Platts, per its standard practice, will provide sufficient notice to the market of any plans to change or discontinue its CAIR or CSAPR allowance assessments. The CSAPR and CAIR allowance assessments are published in Megawatt Daily, Coal Trader and Coal Outlook, on Platts Electricity Alert and in Platts Market Data. For questions, please contact Brian Jordan at brian_jordan@platts.com with a cc to coal@platts.com and to pricegroup@platts.com.
