HIGHLIGHTS
Following industry feedback, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to revise its Medanito FOB assessment typical cargo size from 450,000 barrels to 600,000 barrels, effective April 2
Platts also proposes to include a 450,000-barrel minimum and a 750,000-barrel maximum for cargoes that would be included in these assessments.
Platts reports that cargoes loading on a FOB basis from the Puerto Rosales terminal in Buenos Aires, Argentina, are consistently around 600,000 barrels if there is adequate draft availability. Industry feedback suggests that this cargo size has now become the standard for FOB trading in the region.
The assessments are published under the following Platts symbols:

Platts would reflect a typical cargo size between 450,000 and 750,000 barrels. For other cargo sizes within that range, Platts may normalize them to a 600,000-barrel standard by considering freight cost and market feedback.
