SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts amends clean Worldscale flat rate baskets

Following the Worldscale Association circular No. 5 for the year 2016, Platts will make further amendments to the Worldscale flat rates baskets that are used for $/mt calculations in a number of clean Americas tanker assessments, effective February 8, 2016.

According to the Worldscale circular, flat rates that involve the port of Puerto La Cruz were changed "after review of the Puerto La Cruz Variable Differential." With this amendment the average terminal charges for cargoes loading at Puerto La Cruz increase by $0.20/mt from $1.00/mt to $1.20/mt.

For clean tanker assessments, Platts uses averages of the corresponding baskets of Worldscale flat rates as a basis for $/mt calculations for every route. A full table showing affected Platts assessments, considering Worldscale flat rate amendments is provided below.
