S&P Global Platts will launch eWindow instruments for Group 3 suboctane gasoline and diesel on a Month 2 basis, along with new instruments for premium unleaded 91 in the Platts Market on Close assessment process from Feb. 17, 2022.
Participants in the MOC process will be able to submit bids or offers for publication directly through the eWindow communication tool, or do so through an editor who would then publish the bids and offers using the software.
Bids, offers and trades on a Month 2 basis will be published through the eWindow software for suboctane (V-grade), premium unleaded 91 (A-grade) and diesel (X-grade).
New Month 1 instruments for A-grade also will be added to eWindow.
Month 2 instruments will reflect differentials versus the second NYMEX RBOB or NYMEX ULSD contract month through the day before expiry.
In March, for instance, the Month 1 instruments will be versus April NYMEX RBOB or ULSD while the new Month 2 instruments will be versus the relevant May futures contracts.
On March 31, the Month 1 basis will roll to May futures and the Month 2 basis to June.
Platts assessments of the NYMEX differentials for Group 3 products will continue to be versus the Month 1 RBOB and ULSD futures contracts through the day before the expiry.
On expiry day, the assessed differentials will be versus the second futures month.
These new instruments will add to the existing suite of Group 3 gasoline and diesel instruments in eWindow.
Platts has established clearly defined guidelines and standards of incrementability which apply when publishing bids and offers in the MOC process in order to ensure an orderly and transparent price assessment process.
