Platts clarifies maximum quantity range in Asia LNG MOC offers

S&P Global Platts would like to clarify that the Asia LNG Market on Close assessment process reflects offers with cargo quantity ranges considered fungible in the broader market.

Therefore, the maximum quantity range stated in offers published during the Asia LNG MOC assessment process should be no greater than 0.3 TBtu. An example of an offer with a 0.3 TBtu quantity range would be 3.2 to 3.5 TBtu, with a +/-5% operational tolerance, or optol.

The standard cargo quantity reflected in the Platts JKM assessment remains defined as 3.4 TBtu +/-5% optol.

Offers with cargo volumes submitted in a range continue to be subject to normalization when considered in the final assessment price.

The JKM LNG assessment is published in Platts LNG Daily, as well as on the Platts Natural Gas Alert (PGN) page 1020 and Platts LNG Alert (LNG) page 820.
