S&P Global Platts proposes to discontinue the dirty Caribbean-East Coast Canada Aframax assessment, effective July 5, 2017.
The proposal follows changes in the underlying market that have led to a significant drop in liquidity on the route assessed, including a significant decrease in crude exports from the Caribbean to EC Canada refineries.
The Caribbean-East Coast Canada Aframax assessment currently reflects 70,000 mt cargoes and is assessed on a Worldscale basis. As a result of the discontinuation, the assessment would no longer be published in the Dirty Tankerwire, on Platts Global Alert fixed page 1962 or in the price database under the code PFALV10. Related symbols for the equivalent $/mt value of the assessment (TDAAR00), the cargo size (PFALVSZ), as well as the monthly averages on a Worldscale and $/mt basis (AAAVZ00 and TDAAR03) would also be discontinued.
