Platts amends DDP Germany sugar assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has amended the specifications and name of its DDP Germany sugar assessment (SGAEG04), effective Feb. 1.

Platts has updated the DDP Germany sugar assessment to ExWorks Northwest Europe, with the assessment reflecting sugar from Germany, France, the Netherlands and Belgium, often referred to as the "beet belt".

The name of the assessment has been changed to reflect the new basis: White Sugar EXW Northwest Europe.

The quantity reference reflects basis bulk sugar, considering 1,000 to 5,000 mt. Other volumes can be considered and may be normalized back to the reference volume range.

This change follows a proposal note which was launched on Nov. 1 and extended to Dec. 14, which can be found here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/111523-platts-proposes-amendment-to-ddp-germany-sugar-assessment

A decision note was then published on Dec. 18, which can be found here:
