Platts confirms discontinuation of 2021 RIN assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will discontinue 2021 RIN values for Ethanol RINs (D6), Biomass based diesel RINs (D4), Cellulosic Biofuel RINs (D3) and Advanced Biofuel RINs (D5), effective Feb. 1 , 2023.

The affected assessments relating to this annual seasonal change are:

Ethanol RIN (D6), published under lifetime code Cal-Year 2021 RD62021.

Biodiesel RIN (D4), published under lifetime code Cal-Year 2021 RD42021.

Cellulosic Biofuel RIN (D3), published under lifetime code Cal-Year 2021 RD32021.

Advanced Biofuel RIN (D5), published under lifetime code Cal-Year 2021 RD52021

In addition to the discontinuation of the 2021 RIN values the Year 1 rolling code will move to the 2022 RIN assessments and the Year 2 rolling code will move to the 2023 RIN assessments:

Ethanol RIN (D6) rolling code RINCY01 will reflect the 2022 D6 RIN and the rolling code RINCY02 will reflect the 2023 D6 RIN.

Biodiesel RIN (D4) rolling code BDRCY01 will reflect the 2022 D4 RIN and the rolling code BDRCY02 will reflect the 2023 D4 RIN.

Cellulosic Biofuel RIN (D3) rolling code CBRCY01 will reflect the 2022 and the rolling code CBRCY02 will reflect the 2023 D3 RIN.

Advanced Biofuel RIN (D5) rolling code ABRCY01 will reflect the 2022 D5 RIN and the rolling code ABRCY02 will reflect the 2023 D5 RIN.

Platts also confirms that, in conjunction with the discontinuation of the 2021 RIN assessments, Platts will discontinue the 2021 Renewable Volume Obligations calculation, under the code RVOY021.
