Following a period of subscriber feedback, S&P Global Platts will amend its freight cost assessments to align with the rebasing of its Middle East Marker (MEM) on February 1. The MEM was rebased from the Egyptian port of Ain Sukhna to Mina Al Ahmad, Kuwait, Jebel Ali, UAE, and Ruwais, UAE, in December 2018: https://www.platts.com.es/subscriber-notes-details/21380205. The LNG shipping assessments with the following price symbols would be affected: LMEMM00, LMEMM03, LMEMN00, LMEMN03, LMEMP00, LMEMP03, LMEMQ00 LMEMQ03, LMEMR00, LMEMR03, LMEMS00, LMEMS03, LMEMT00, LMEMT03, LMEMU00, LMEMU03, LMEMV00, LMEMV03, LMEMW00, LMEMW03, LMEMX00, LMEMX03, LMEMY00, LMEMY03, LMEMZ00 and LMEMZ03.
The nomenclature for these symbols will also change, deleting the reference to Egypt or Ain Sukhna and replacing this with Kuwait/UAE where appropriate.
