S&P Global Platts has published two new daily Supramax dry bulk grains freight assessments, reflecting the growing trade for grains from the Black Sea to Southeast Asia and from South America to China, effective February 1, 2019. The launch of assessments for these routes follows feedback to S&P Global Platts' proposal, published on November 5, 2018.
The following new assessments are:
Yuzhny, Ukraine, to Cigading, Indonesia, 50,000 mt grains (DBWBS00) Santos, Brazil, to Qingdao, China, 50,000 mt grains (DBSBS00)
The assessments are based on modern Supramax tonnage and reflect the cost of transporting a 50,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) grains cargo on a 57,000 dwt Supramax dry bulk vessel from loading port to discharge port and are published on a dollar per metric ton basis.
