SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to average split European aromatics CP settlements

Following market feedback, S&P Global Platts has decided to revise its methodology on contract price settlement reporting to give it the discretion to average monthly contract price settlements for all European aromatic contracts in the case of split initial settlements.

The proposal follows numerous requests from industry participants, with the methodology change set to take effect from March 1, 2017.

Platts will reserve the right to average split contract settlements from there onwards, subject to editorial judgement of market conditions.
