SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to discontinue 2017 RIN, RVO assessments

Effective February 1, 2019, S&P Global Platts will no longer publish 2017 RIN values for Ethanol RIN (D6), Biodiesel RIN (D4), Cellulosic Biofuel RIN (D3) and Advanced Biofuel RIN (D5). In line with the Platts methodology, the last assessment for 2017 RINs will be on January 31, 2018.

The assessments impacted are: Ethanol RIN (D6), published under lifetime code Cal-Year 2017 RD62017 Biodiesel RIN (D4), published under lifetime code Cal-Year 2017 RD42017 Cellulosic Biofuel RIN (D3), published under lifetime code Cal-Year 2017 RD32017 Advanced Biofuel RIN (D5), published under lifetime code Cal-Year 2017 RD52017

The discontinuation of the 2017 RIN values will result in Year 1 rolling code moving to the 2018 RIN assessments and the Year 2 rolling code moving to the 2019 RIN assessments.

Ethanol RIN (D6) rolling code RINCY01 will reflect the 2018 D6 RIN and the rolling code RINCY02 will reflect the 2019 D6 RIN. Biodiesel RIN (D4) rolling code BDRCY01 will reflect the 2018 D4 RIN and the rolling code BDRCY02 will reflect the 2019 D4 RIN. Cellulosic Biofuel RIN (D3) rolling code CBRCY01 will reflect the 2018 and the rolling code CBRCY02 will reflect the 2019 D3 RIN. D5 RIN Advanced Biofuel RIN (D5) rolling code ABRCY01 will reflect the 2018 D5 RIN and the rolling code ABRCY02 will reflect the 2019 D5 RIN.

In addition, in accordance with the methodology and in conjunction with the discontinuation of the 2017 RIN assessments, Platts will also discontinue the 2017 Renewable Volume Obligations calculation, under the code RVOY2017, effective February 1, 2019.

The Renewable Volume Obligation Current Year value will also roll to reflect the 2019 Renewable Volume Obligation, under the code RVOR002.
