Following the announcement of an extension to the Lunar New Year public holidays in China, S&P Global Platts offices in China will continue to be closed until January 31, 2020, and there will be no FOB China and domestic China assessments of steel and nonferrous metals, as well as thermal coal, published from China on that day.
China's State Council announced an extension to the Lunar New Year public holiday until February 2, in view of the coronavirus outbreak, instead of January 31, as previously announced.
Platts will continue to monitor the situation and may further extend its publication halt should the state holiday period be continued. Platts typically follows the nationally gazetted holidays in countries that serve as the basis of assessment publishing schedules.
