Platts to end Med-USGC/USAC 55kt assessment

Platts proposes to discontinue its Mediterranean to US Gulf coast and US Atlantic Coast 55kt clean tanker freight assessments.

These rates were originally used for Naphtha flows to the US from Mediterranean ports.

Since the reduction in these flows this route no longer reflects a liquid trade flow.

These rates are published in the Clean Tankerwire and on Platts Global Alert page 558.

Platts proposes to discontinue this assessment on August 1, 2012.
