SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to launch new Supramax, Panamax voyage, TCE assessments

S&P Global Platts proposes to launch four new dry bulk freight assessments for Panamax and Supramax vessels from Samarinda in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, to Guangzhou in China's Guangdong province, effective 3 April, 2017.

The new voyage charter and Time Charter Equivalent (TCE) assessments would reflect the spot fixture activity on these routes basis 50,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) and 65,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) for meeting the thermal coal requirements of Chinese consumers.

The TCE assessments for Supramax and Panamax vessels would reflect $/day pricing and would be derived from the respective voyage rates published by Platts on a $/mt basis.

The TCE assessments would be calculated using bunker prices published by Platts.

The port charges, vessel speed and consumption used in the TCE calculations are arrived at by extensive market survey and reflect market practice.

All assessments would be basis loading and discharge on Sundays and Holidays Included per weather working day at both ends; sea margin of 5% and total commission at 5%.
