Subscriber note: Platts to add bulk alloys monthly lows/highs

In response to industry requests, Platts will begin publishing monthly averages of the lows and highs of its weekly US assessments for ferrochrome, ferromanganese, silicomanganese and ferrosilicon, effective with February monthly averages. Specifically, the following assessments will now include low and high monthly averages as well as monthly averages of the range midpoints: for ferrochrome -- 65% High Carbon in-warehouse US, Low Carbon 0.10% in-warehouse US and Low Carbon 0.05% in-warehouse US; for ferromanganese -- High Carbon 78% in-warehouse US and Medium Carbon 85% in-warehouse US; for silicomanganese -- 65% Mn in-warehouse US; and for ferrosilicon -- 75% Si in-warehouse US. The monthly averages will be published in Platts Metals Alert and the Platts Monthly Price Notification on the last business day of the month, and in the Metals Week supplement of Platts Metals Daily on the first Friday after the last day of each month.
