Platts proposes to update the conversion factor that it applies to its US Gulf Coast 6 API, 1%S residual fuel assessment from 6.39 to 6.11 barrels/metric ton.
This value is used by Platts to convert the assessment from dollars per barrel into dollars per metric ton.
The assessment and associated information is published on Platts Global Alert pages 38 and 50.
The change would take effect from March 1, 2012.
